What is theory of machine.

 TOM[Theory of machine]- Theory of machine may be defined as that branch of engineering science which deals with the study of relative motions between various elements of a machine and the forces which act on them. 

The theory of machine may be subdivided into the following  two branches:

1] Kinematics,  2] Dynamics

1] Kinematics:- It is that that branch if theory of machine which deals with the relative motion between the various parts of the machine, without considering the forces causes the motion.

 2] Dynamics:- It is that branch of theory of machine which deals with the inertia forces which arise from the combined effect of the mass and motion of the machine parts.
